Weekend Round-Up: Victory at last for the OHAFC!
A first victory of the season was finally recorded by an OHAFC side on Saturday afternoon, the 2s defeating the Old Radleians 2-1, and it was so nearly a win-double, with the 3s only denied at the death by a controversial Wellingtonians equaliser.
On a wet and windy afternoon on Harrow Hill, the OHAFC 2nd XI produced an excellent first half display, scoring one of the fastest goals in club history when Charlie Stebbings slotted home inside thirty seconds. An unfortunate Alexi Pittalis own goal saw the visitors level prior to the break and the second half proved a scrappy affair in the worsening weather conditions. Fortunately, Jack Dolbey earned the hosts a penalty with just over twenty minutes remaining and Jamie Jordache slotted home to seal the win.
Meanwhile, the 3s were hugely unfortunate not to claim three points on the adjacent pitch. Ed Nicholson's men fought back from a goal down to lead 2-1 courtesy of efforts from two substitutes, Ali Buckley and Jake Speed. But as time ticked into the 90th minute, the visitors snatched a point with a hotly disputed effort, a shot across goal turned in from point-blank range. Harrow appealed for offside in vain and the Blues were forced to settle for a point. Nevertheless, a marked improvement for both sides over their previous results.
The teamsheets are now available in the results section, along with the 2s match report, with the 3s report due in shortly.
