Weekend Round-Up: 3s exit DWT
The OHAFC 2s and 3s played their first games since the winter break but there was little joy for either side.
The 3s were dumped out of the David Woolcott Trophy at the first hurdle by the Old Westminsters 2s on the astro in Rotherhithe, the Blues suffering a 2-0 defeat despite keeper Alex Fraysse making a superb save from a penalty early in the second half. The hosts, who had laboured in the first half against a strong Harrow team, finally broke through with a well-worked move and sealed the win from a corner late on. The 3s return to Cup action next weekend with the visit of the Old Shirburnians to the Hill in the Junior League Cup.
Meanwhile, the OHAFC 2nd XI were forced to settle for just a point at home to Division Three bottom dwellers the Old Brentwoods 3s on the Hill, the Blues the better side for most of the game but unable to force a winner after Will Payne had equalised for the home side with twenty minutes remaining.
The OHAFC 2s climb to third in the table but fixtures are now running out for the team to claim one of the top two promotion spots.
Team sheets and match reports from both games are now available in the results section.
