Weekend Round-Up: 1s earn vital win
The OHAFC 1st XI chose the perfect moment to deliver their best performance of the season, earning a superb 2-1 win over Division One leaders the Old Brentwoods on Saturday morning on the Harrow astroturf.
Knowing that only two wins from their final three games would be enough to stave off relegation, the Blues started quickly and took an early lead when George Taylor poked home from close range following excellent work by skipper Dan Firoozan.
The visitors were rather gifted an equaliser just before the half-hour mark when a corner wasn't cleared and bundled in from close range. But the Blues recovered well and retook the lead five minutes before the break when Jack Dolbey's shot from the edge of the box took a slight deflection and flew past the keeper.
Brentwoods only began to threaten an equaliser in the final stages of the second half but the hosts held on to record a vital victory that lifts the side out of the bottom two with two fixtures remaining.
