Weekend Round-Up: 1s and 2s struggling

11 Feb 2026

The OHAFC 1st and 2nd XIs both suffered dispiriting defeats this weekend, leaving both sides nervously looking over their shoulders as the League season enters the final run-in.

A bare XI travelled to Merchant Taylors but the OHAFC 1s were forced to play for nearly an hour a man downAli Buckley arriving late before Charlie Bick was then helped from the field just before half-time with a broken collar bone. Despite battling manfully against the odds, and creating a few chances of their own, the 1s were undone from a set-piece half an hour from time and slipped to a fourth League defeat in five games.

The OHAFC 2nd XI also fell to their fourth defeat in five League games at home to the Old Alleynians 3s on the Harrow astroturf, but this proved a far more dramatic affair. The hosts played well for the majority of the game and seemed in complete control at 2-1 up with five minutes remaining, goals from Miles Kellock and Owain James earning the lead. But the visitors didn’t throw in the towel and, having levelled in the 86th minute, then snatched all three points in the final minute to provoke wild celebrations. The Blues sat crestfallen at the final whistle, wondering just how they had let another victory slip from their grasp.

All three OHAFC sides are now in the bottom half of their divisions and all three need victories going forwards to ensure relegation fears remain unfounded.
