Weekend Round-Up: Late drama for 2s and 3s
Both the OHAFC 2nd and 3rd XIs were forced to settle for dramatic draws on Saturday afternoon, in very different circumstances.
The 2s travelled to Uxbridge to face Division Two leaders the Old Malvernians. On a pristine pitch, the visitors acquitted themselves well but fell behind midway through the first half and trailed 2-0 at the break.
But a superb second half performance saw the Blues pull a goal back with a quarter of an hour remaining, Pedro Azagra finishing Jack Dolbey's cross from the left. And in the final minute, David Griffiths was bundled over inside the box and veteran David Lederman stepped up to slot home and ensure the visitors collected a deserved point.
The OHAFC 3s were on the other side of fate, however, when they conceded a last-minute goal that denied them a first win of the season away to the Old Berkhamstedians 2s in Chiswick.
In a hugely entertaining game, the two sides shared six goals, Adam Graham scoring twice for the OHAFC, younger brother Dan the other. With time ticking down, the Blues looked to be just about holding onto their 3-2 lead, but a corner from the left wasn't dealt with and the loose ball was curled into the far corner through a crowd of players to break Harrow hearts.
The OHAFC 1st XI continue to find life in Division One more of a struggle than they bargained for, as they fell to a third defeat in four games, this time losing 4-2 away to the Old Chigwellians.
This was, in fact, a fairly even game that was only settled late on. The visitors' goals came via George Taylor, who enjoyed a superb match, but further sloppiness at the back saw the hosts score four, once more consigning the visitors to defeat.
Team sheets and match reports from all three games are now available in the results section.
