Weekend Round-Up: Historic win for 2s at Carts

17 Oct 2021

The OHAFC 2nd XI became the first Harrow side to beat a Charterhouse team in just under a decade as they recorded a famous 3-1 down in Godalming on Saturday morning. No OHAFC side has got the better of their Carthusian counterparts since the 1st XI recorded a 2-1 Premier Division win back in January 2012.

But this win was fully deserved for the Blues, who raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time courtesy of two goals from Miles Kellock and one from debutant Pedro Azagra - who had to come on in only the fifth minute when defender Ed Massey was forced off with a broken nose.

The visitors weathered a strong fightback from the Carthusians at the start of the second half, indebted to a superb save from another debutant, Hassan Hammad, in the Harrow goal. The Blues spurned some late chances to add to their margin of victory, conceding from a corner with five minutes remaining. The win lifts the side into sixth in the Division Two table.

Meanwhile, there was another defeat for the 1s, who lost 6-2 at home to the Old Wykehamists, the visitors' striker scoring all six of their goals. And the 3s eventually ran out of steam against Division Four leaders the Old Shirburnians, losing 4-2 despite leading twice in the first half.
