Weekend Round-Up: Bleak results for all
All three OHAFC sides suffered heavy defeats on a bleak weekend for the club.
If the 1s' mauling at the hands of reigning champions the Old Carthusians was to be expected - the visitors running away with the game late on to record a 9-0 victory - the 11-0 thrashing suffered by the 2s against their Etonian counterparts on the adjoining Phil pitch most certainly was not.
A weakened Harrow side, shorn of numerous regulars, conceded early on from the spot and never looked like staying with a fit, well-drilled Eton side. Again, a flurry of late goals gave the scoreline a thoroughly depressing feel.
The 3s battled hard against the Old Stoics on the Harrow astroturf, but some defensive sloppiness undid much of their good work. At 3-1 down at half-time, the next goal was likely to prove crucial, and unfortunately it was the visitors who snatched it, adding a late fifth to seal a 5-1 win.
The three defeats mean the club has lost all five of its' opening fixtures in the Arthurian League.
The only way is up, as they say...
