Weekend Round-Up: 3s recover from two goals downn
The OHAFC 3rd XI's recovery from two goals down to force a 2-2 draw at home to Tonbridgians 2s was the highlight on an otherwise disappointing weekend for the OHAFC.
Despite a strong showing on the astroturf in Whitton, the 1st XI fell to a 2-0 defeat against the Old Radleians. The scoreline could have looked very different after a strong first-half showing that saw the visitors hit the crossbar no fewer than three times. But having failed to take the lead, the Blues were made to pay in the second half, the Radleians scoring twice in quick succession.
The OHAFC 2s were also in action on the astroturf and also fell to defeat, losing 1-0 away to the Old Carthusians 2s at Club des Sports in Acton. Second best for much of the game, the Blues were indebted to a fine keeping display from Rory Craig to keep them in it. But a late penalty following a challenge from Felix Orchard proved sufficient for the hosts to take all three points.
There was better news on the Hill however, the 3s clawing their way back to earn a point despite falling 2-0 behind early on against the Tonbridgians second string. Alvin Adefarasin pulled a goal back five minutes before the break and Ed Corswarem earned a share of the spoils when he curled in a superb free-kick with twenty minutes remaining.
