Weekend Round-Up: 3s lose despite dominating
Two defeats for the OHAFC on Saturday afternoon, but vastly differing displays.
The 1s, featuring no less than three goalkeepers and a number of 2s players, were summarily thrashed by the Old Alleynians on the astroturf at Whitton Sports Centre. David Griffiths scored the Harrow goal on the half-hour and, remarkably, the visitors could have levelled at 2-2 soon afterwards.
But a flurry of Alleynian goals either side of the break sent the hosts clear and they ended the game in dominant fashion, racking up an 11-1 win.
In contrast, the OHAFC 3s were kicking themselves for not collecting three points following an excellent display at home to the Old Stoics in Division Four. The Blues spurned numerous opportunities, scoring their only goal courtesy of a Charlie Lupton free-kick. But they were made to pay for the catalogue of missed chances when the Stoics scored breakaway goals either side of the break to register a thoroughly undeserved 2-1 win.
Team sheets and match reports from both games are now available in the results section.
