Weekend Round-Up: 3s exit but 2s progress in JLC
There were mixed fortunes for the OHAFC 2s and 3s in the Junior League Cup on Saturday.
The OHAFC 2s travelled to Essex to face Division Five side Old Brentwoods 4s and came away with relatively comfortable 5-3 victory, Alexi Pittalis scoring twice, Miles Kellock, Ed Nicholson and Murray Barr with the others.
The 2s' reward for the win is a tantalising last sixteen fixture at home to Eton 2s next weekend.
But the 3s run in this competition comes to an end for another season following a 4-1 defeat away to a strong Old Kimboltonians outfit at Hertfordshire University. The hosts raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time, killing the tie as a contest. The visitors performed creditably however and Jamie Jordache pulled one back from the spot, before a late Kimboltons breakaway goal gave the scoreline a rather flattering look for the hosts.
The 3s still have the David Woolcott trophy to focus on, as well as their final two remaining League games.
Both teamsheets and match reports are now available in the results section.
