Weekend Round-Up: 3s earn excellent win on the road
Once again, the three OHAFC sides enjoyed mixed fortunes at the weekend.
The highlight was undoubtedly the 3s' excellent 2-0 win away to the Old Tonbridgians 2s down in Kent. Despite the hosts enjoying more of the ball in both halves, the Blues defended stoutly and scored two slightly fortunate goals either side of the break. Charlie Lupton saw his free-kick from deep sail straight into the top corner, whilst Jordan Holmes scored his first ever goal for the club with a deflected effort off a defender.
The 2s were also up against it for long spells in their home game against the Old Alleynians 3s, struggling to create any chances of note and seemingly destined for a narrow defeat when the visitors scored with half an hour remaining. But a superb jinking run from winger Miles Kellock earned a late penalty which David Lederman converted, the hosts escaping with a point.
The 1s weren't so fortunate however, suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat away to the Old Wykehamists on the astroturf in Acton. Frustratingly, the goals all came from set-pieces and all within a ten minute spell midway through the first half. Nic Blinoff provided the lone reply, with keeper Fraser McGuinness also saving a second half penalty.
Team sheets and reports from all three games are now available in the results section.
