Weekend Round-Up: 1s salvage late point
The OHAFC 1st salvaged a deserved point away to the Old Salopians in the club's final fixture of the year with a 2-2 draw on the astroturf in Chiswick on Saturday afternoon.
Skipper Dan Firoozan earned the visitors an early lead with a clever lob from Will Payne's pass. But Salopians levelled in slightly controversial circumstances, a forward helping the ball along with his arm before finishing into an empty net.
The second half proved a scrappy affair but there was late drama at both ends. A defensive mix-up gifted the hosts the lead with ten minutes remaining but straight from kick-off the OHAFC earned themselves a penalty, debutant Carlo Agostinelli slaloming his way past four defenders before being crudely upended. Although Firoozan's spot-kick was saved, sub George Taylor was on hand to fire in the rebound and ensure the Blues clinched a draw. Salopians were reduced to ten men in the final moments with a straight red card being shown for a crude challenge on the Harrow skipper.
