Weekend Round-Up: 1s & 3s lose again, 2s thrive
The OHAFC 2nd XI are marching on single-handedly at the moment as they recorded an impressive 5-3 win away to the Old Sennockians - a win that sends them top of Division Three. But there was further pain for the 1s and 3s, who both finished well beaten again and now sit rock bottom of their respective divisions.
The 2s travelled down to Kent to face the Sennockians and in idyllic conditions at Sevenoaks School the two sides played out a minor classic. Striker Pedro Azagra scored two early goals to put the visitors in charge but the hosts rallied and levelled the scores prior to the interval. Miles Kellock restored Harrow's lead midway through the second half but the Sennockians replied instantly courtesy of a superb long-range strike from their skipper. With twenty minutes remaining there was all to play for, but it was the Blues who snatched victor with super late goals from Owain James and Galen Crawley.
There were even more goals on the astroturf in Gunnersbury Park as the Old Ardinians hit the OHAFC 1st XI for seven - the Blues' third consecutive defeat of the season. The OHAFC actually competed well in the first half and early goals from George Taylor and a penalty from George Gould saw the sides level at 2-2 with half an hour played. A slight error from keeper Tom Mitchell gifted the hosts the lead just before the break and both sides traded goals in the five minutes after half-time - skipper Ed Beecham firing in from just outside the box to keep the deficit to just one goal. But a disastrous fifteen minute spell then saw the hosts score three times without reply and the visitors ended the afternoon well beaten and bottom of Division One.
It was a similar story back on the Hill as the OHAFC 3rd XI suffered a heavy 5-1 defeat at home to Old Brentwoods 4s. Rupert Stonehill gave the hosts the lead after just two minutes but that proved the highlight of their afternoon, a miserable ninety minutes rounded off by defender Simon Nicholson receiving a straight red card for contesting a penalty decision given against him. Like the 1s, the OHAFC 3rd XI now sit bottom of their division.
