Weekend Round-Up: 1s & 2s respond in style
There were excellent comeback wins for both the OHAFC 1st and 2nd XIs this weekend, although the 3s tasted defeat in their first away game of the season.
Following last Saturday's last-gasp defeat at the Old Rugbeians, the OHAFC 1s called on some familiar faces to help them record a solid 2-0 win at home to the Old Westminsters. Both the Bick brothers, Charlie and Harry, and the Breedens, James and Alex, were available and contributed to the deserved victory, earnt courtesy of goals from Alex and Oli Acar - making a real impact since his return to OHAFC action this season.
Meanwhile, on the adjoining Phil pitch, the OHAFC 2s earnt a hard-fought 1-0 win over the Old Sennockians. Pablo Hutchinson scored the decisive goal just after the half-hour mark, jumping highest to head home a David Lederman free-kick. The 2s battled hard under pressure in the second half to maintain their lead, keeper Rory Craig making a couple of fine saves.
But the news was less positive from south London, where the OHAFC 3s fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to the Old King's Scholars. The Blues were well below their best in a scrappy game and two defensive lapses in the second half cost them dearly.
Team sheets and reports from all three games are now available in the results section.
