Weekend Round-Up: 1s & 2s in relegation trouble
Disappointing defeats this weekend for the OHAFC 1s and 2s have left both sides in relegation trouble as the season reaches its climax.
The OHAFC 1st XI became Lancing's first victims of the season when they fell to a crushing 3-2 defeat down in Tolworth, the visitors conceding a last-minute penalty having previously taken a 2-1 lead courtesy of a double from Charlie Bick.
But an unfortunate collision between Jamie Jordache and a Lancing attacker gifted the hosts the opportunity to snatch all three points and, despite having to take the penalty twice, the chance was taken and the home side had their first win of the season.
The OHAFC sit two points above the relegation zone with three games remaining.
Meanwhile, the OHAFC 2s also took the lead at home to the Old Chigwellians, but failed to capitalise on their advantage, suffering a dispiriting 3-1 defeat. Joss Awdry headed in from a corner - his first ever OHAFC goal - after twenty minutes but a nightmare spell then saw the hosts gift their opponents three soft goals prior to half-time.
Chigs had a man sent off with twenty minutes remaining but the Blues could not find a way through, despite mounting pressure in the closing stages. Max Curry hit the post with a header before spurning a one-on-one, time eventually running out for the home team.
The 2s still have four games remaining to avoid the drop, although they are likely to have to win at least two of them to do so.
Teamsheets and match reports are now available for both games in the results section.
