Vets end season with heavy KCS friendly defeat
The OHAFC Vet rounded off the club's season with a friendly defeat against their KCS Wimbledon counterparts at Hanworth Villa FC in southwest London on Monday night.
The black and white stripes put on a decent showing for the majority of the game, only to tire in the closing stages and concede a few late goals.
Paul Molloy had given the OHAFC the lead with a superb strike midway through the first half, but KCS responded, levelling ten minutes later before taking the lead just before half-time.
Harrow battled hard in the second half but as the game wore on, the younger legs in the KCS ranks began to take advantage of the huge pitch, and the late flurry of goals saw them run out 7-1 winners.
Despite the scoreline, this was a highly encouraging performance from the OHAFC, who were missing several key men including skipper David Lederman (Covid), striker Harry Hoffen (away) and centre-half Tim Dalton (injured). A number of famous faces from years gone by appeared for the Vets for the first time including former 1s stars Ben Hyppolite, Luke de Rougemont and Ashley Vargas.
The Vets have had a heavily disrupted season meaning that last night's fixture was just their second of the campaign.
