OHAFC 2's fall to reckless Brentwood in ill-tempered affair

17 Nov 2012

Following a 6-1 demolition of the same team last week, the OH 2nd XI headed up to Brentwood full of confidence on Saturday, only to suffer a bitter 2-1 defeat.

The side went 1-0 down when a fine piece of skill from the Brentwood number 11 saw him cut in off the left, beat four players and slot calmly past the stationary Pritchard who could do nothing but stand and admire.

Harrow responded with a fantastic twenty minute spell of their own, crowned by a superb move that resulted in the equaliser: a pin-point cross from Curry was met first-time by Hugo Trower on his left foot to send the ball rocketing into the bottom corner.

After the break the hosts upped the tempo and the aggression levels: tackles began to fly in all over the park with the referee apparently reluctant to intervene. On the hour mark Brentwood scored their second with another good run and finish from the Essex winger.

With ten minutes remaining a rather innocuous challenge from Bone sparked an ugly melee and a trio of red cards from the referee - one for Bone and two for the home side.

The last kick of the game saw Bartlett's volley from the edge of the box sail agonisingly wide of the far post, confirming the disappointing result for Harry Woolley's men.
