Taxi for Chigwell as 1st XI complete hat-trick of victories
The OHAFC 1st XI completed a hat-trick of wins against Chigwell on Saturday when a scrambled Fred Milln header earned them a 1-0 win in Essex.
An entertaining match played on a superb surface saw Ed Poulter's team - for which John Portal was making his debut - dominate for long spells but fail to find a way past a solid Chigs rearguard. It took a long throw twenty minutes from time to produce the breakthrough, Milln reacting quickest after his first header dropped into space.
The two sides are now level on 24 points with one game remaining in the race for fourth place, although the two other Essex mobs Forest and Brentwood are close behind.
The 1st XI round off their season with a home game against relegation-threatened KCS Wimbledon next week. Team lineup, match report and a photo of Freddie Brunt rolling around on a wine cooler in the showers before the game are all now available in the Results section.
