Superb Arghebant strike seals OHAFC Dunn Cup win
The OHAFC 1st XI progressed into the second round of the Arthur Dunn Cup on Saturday with hard-fought 2-1 win at home to the Old Chigwellians in a game played in high winds throughout and in driving rain for much of the second half.
Harrow deservedly led 1-0 at the break thanks to a header from substitute Charlie Stebbings, Luke de Rougemont having departed midway through the half with a serious eye injury. Chigwell were back on level terms after an hour when an innocuous cross into the Harrow box bounced up and hit Ed Martins on the arm, the referee immediately signalling for a penalty that was duly dispatched.
But in appalling conditions and with Harrow struggling to keep hold of the ball, the grim prospect of extra-time was averted with just under twenty minutes remaining when Ed Arghebant thumped a stunning volley in from 22 yards out, the ball arcing perfectly over the Chigwell 'keeper and into the top of the net.
Harrow hung grimly until the end, grateful to reach both the sanctity of the dressing room and the second round of the Cup, where Tonbridge now await.
