Set-pieces help 3s progress in Junior League Cup
The OHAFC 3rd XI profited from three set-pieces to overcome fellow Division Four high-fliers the Old Suttonians in the Preliminary Round of the Junior League Cup on Saturday.
Playing on the astroturf in Chiswick, the visitors had to wait until minutes before the break before opening the scoring, Callum Barrett volleying in from close range following a long throw to notch his first ever OHAFC goal.
A minute after half-time it was 2-0, Alex Smith flicking in a low corner from Harry Bick. And Bick himself completed the scoring twenty minutes from time, again a close-range finish from another long throw.
The Blues will now face Division Three strugglers the Old Salopians 2s on the same pitch in early January for a place in the last sixteen.
