Set-piece errors cost 2s in JLC semi-final
Two poorly-defended free-kicks in the space of a few minutes midway through the first half cost the OHAFC 2s the chance to appear in this season's Junior League Cup final.
Geoff Taunton-Collins' men were unable to recover from the setback and despite enjoying more of the ball in both halves, finished comfortably beaten by the Old Kimboltonians, who defended resolutely throughout to complete a 2-0 victory on the Sunley Field on Harrow Hill.
It was a disappointing end to the team's cup run, although with Division Two leaders the Old Alleynians awaiting in the final, ultimate success would have proved highly problematic in any case.
Instead, the side must now focus on ensuring their hard work throughout the season is not wasted as they focus on retaining their Division Two status. A win either at home to Radley or away to Forest 2s on the final day of the season is the requirement.
