School knocked out of Boodles Cup in 2nd Round
Harrow 0 Alleyn's 3
Harrow bowed out of the Boodles Cup yesterday with a fine spirited performance on the Hill against a strong Alleyn's unit which had reached the final last season.
Conceding a goal after only ten minutes ensured an uphill struggle for the home side despite high energy levels and some excellent tackling. The 2-0 half-time deficit placed a heavy demand on Harrow to get the next goal but it was not to be with just two half chances falling to them to get past a quality keeper.
Harrow's dignified team management was in stark contrast to the Alleyn's vociferous coaching squad who "talked" the visitors through the entire 80 minutes, marshalling the defence every step of the way.
Tom Knight and Tim Dalton are to be congratulated on assembling a group of players good enough to challenge potential winners of the competition and were unlucky to be drawn against such strong opponents before the start of the School's soccer season proper next term when the five 1st XV components will be available to train with the squad. OHAFC wishes Tom and Tim every success which their Boodles Cup experience will have helped to promote.
