First fixtures of 2012/13 season announced
The opening fixtures of the 2012/13 season have been announced by the Arthurian League and the fixtures computer - a.k.a Matt Barry's brain - has thrown up some stern early challenges for the three OHAFC sides.
The 1st XI face their longest journey of the season on September 29th when they travel to Essex to face Brentwood, always one of the toughest fixtures in any season. The early timing should however ensure that the normally boggy Brentwood pitches are at least in decent shape.
A week later, the side have their first home game of the season and a chance for revenge against Old Tonbridgians who knocked them out of the Dunn Cup in heart-breaking circumstances back in February.
The OHAFC 2nd XI also begin their campaign with a tough away trip to Eton's second string on October 6th. With a slow start traditionally hampering the side, Arjun Chopra will have his work cut out to get the side in shape for such a tough encounter.
The OHAFC 3rd XI have the honour of being the first Harrow team in action this season. Theo Gordon's side begin life in Division Four with a home fixture against Old Eastbournians before facing Berkhamsted, also at home, a week later.
The first action on the Phil pitches will be the 'Festiphil' which takes place on Saturday 15th and will involve over 50 Old Harrovians helping to open the new Charles Alcock Pavilion, the new clubhouse for all OHAFC teams.
