Today we take a look back at the last five years' worth of games for the three OHAFC teams on this weekend...

Five Seasons Ago: October 10th 2009

Old Foresters 2 OHAFC 1st XI 3: One of the great 1st XI wins of recent years. Trailing 2-1 with two minutes remaining, the Blues produced a memorable turnaround to score twice in the closing minutes and earn a second consecutive win of the season.

Lederman, who had already scored from the spot, converted a second penalty to draw the sides level before teeing up Ed Martins in stoppage time to fire home the winner and send the visitors into raptures. It was to be one of the most important victories of the season as the side claimed the Premier Division title.

OHAFC 2nd XI 1 Old Chigwellians 2’s 4: In contrast, the 2nd XI suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Chigs 2’s at John Lyon School. Fielding a weakened team, the 2’s were forced to use Arjun Chopra in goal but he couldn’t help prevent the visitors cruising to an easy win. Bemini Soyinka scored the home side’s consolation goal.

Four Seasons Ago: October 9th 2010

Old Cholmeleians 1 OHAFC 1st XI 1: A scrappy game in north London saw a Harrow side low on confidence earn a share of the spoils thanks to a second half Luke de Rougemont strike. Star performer for the Blues was the diminutive Jonathan Best who performed excellently in an unfamiliar central midfield role.

Three Seasons Ago: October 8th 2011

Old Foresters 3 OHAFC 1st XI 1: Again, the Harrow 1st XI was the only side in action and again they faced a tough trip to Forest but this time could not repeat the heroics of two seasons earlier.

Despite taking the lead through a fine David Lederman free-kick, the ball curled over the wall and into the top corner following a foul on Quentin Baker, the home side hit back to score three times in the fifteen minutes prior to half-time. Some questionable defending from the Harrow rearguard saw goals conceded from a corner and a free-kick before a dubious penalty gave the hosts a comfortable cushion.

Despite pressing in the minutes after the break, Harrow could not find a way back into the game and were lucky to escape further punishment in the closing minutes as Forest went close on several occasions.

Two Seasons Ago: October 13th 2012

Lancing Old Boys 3 OHAFC 1st XI 0: The 1st XI suffered their first defeat of the season against a well-organised Lancing side in Kingston but the result could have been very different on another day as there was little to choose between the teams.

Debutants David Griffiths in goal and Fred Coleridge-Cole at centre-half performed well and the visitors had chances to open the scoring before falling behind on the hour from a corner.

Again the Blues could, and should, have scored but two defensive errors handed the hosts the goals they needed to secure the points despite some late Harrow pressure.

OHAFC 2nd XI 5 Old Wykehamists 2’s 2: Two fantastic early goals from Bemini Soyinka (bringing his tally to four for the season) gave Harrow the lead against a determined Winchester side who were full of running. The departure through injury of Nick Bartlett midway through the half disrupted Harrow’s rhythm somewhat and their opponents took advantage, reducing the arrears prior to the break.

In the second half, despite some very heavy rain, Trower, Arghebant and Stead began to dominate the midfield and the result was soon put beyond doubt: Stead scored a well-taken goal and debutant Alex Cater then bagged a brace to confirm a comfortable win their performance had deserved.

Old Amplefordians 1 Old Harrovian 3rd XI 1: A hard-fought draw for Theo Gordon’s 3rd XI who had a fine Alex Watson goal midway through the second half to thank for earning a share of the points. The side moved onto a very respectable five points from their opening three games following the draw in Chiswick.

Last Season: October 12th 2013

OHAFC 1st XI 4 Old Malvernians 2: A first win of the season for Ed Poulter’s men and a sense of relief after a tough start to the season with away games at Forest and Lancing.

Newly-promoted Malvern proved limited opposition for the Blues, although they did manage to draw level at 1-1 following Harry Hoffen’s opener. A header from Fred Milln and second half goals from Quentin Baker and Hugo Trower secured the points, with Johan Harder spending most of the game in goal due to the lack of a recognised ‘keeper.

Old Amplefordians 7 OHAFC 3rd XI 1: Coincidentally, the OHAFC 3rd XI faced a second consecutive trip to Chiswick to face Ampleforth on this weekend but this time the result was very different, Theo Gordon’s men being humbled 7-1.

There was little to hint at the flood of goals to come at the break however, with the sides level at 1-1. Alex Gilbert had given the visitors the lead and despite Ampleforth’s equaliser just before half-time there was little to hint at what was to unfold in the second half.

Sadly the hosts superior fitness told and they scored a remarkable six goals without reply to make it a miserable trip home for the Blues.
