OHAFC Vets thumped by impressive Lancing

19 Oct 2015

Sunday morning saw the second OH Veterans friendly of the season but this time it wasn't quite as enjoyable as the opening 5-1 win over Witan.

A very strong, well-organised Lancing side arrived at the Bank of England ground and promptly despatched the hosts 6-1 as they prepared in style for the upcoming Veterans Cup first round.

In truth, Harrow didn't help themselves with several of the goals conceded avoidable, notably those from set-pieces. Facing a 3-0 deficit prior to the break, Harrow nearly scored in style when an excellent move down the left saw a strong cross-cum-shot smash into the Lancing bar before bouncing to safety.

Three further goals in the second half put the result beyond doubt, but Harrow were allowed one moment of joy when a late Lederman through ball sent Dom Danos racing clear. Despite vocal appeals for offside, the striker was allowed to go on and kept his composure well to round the 'keeper and slot home.

The OH Vets' next fixture is another friendly game in a fortnight against Winchester, also at the Bank of England ground.
