OHAFC Tour to Sofia - squad announced
OHAFC will fly out to Sofia, Bulgaria on Friday 29th March and return on Monday 1st April. Games will be played against local opposition on Saturday and Sunday of the Easter weekend. Humiliating defeats are expected in both fixtures.
Jack Orr-Ewing has scrambled together a supremely talented touring party, 15 strong. They line up as follows:
- Jack Orr-Ewing (Tour Captain)
- David Lederman
- Harry Woolley
- Jonathan Best
- Alasdair Pritchard
- Oli Malin-Hyams
- Will Orr-Ewing
- Nick Bartlett
- Fred Coleridge Cole
- Jack Robinson
- Ben Kerry
- Hugo Trower
- Spencer Crawley
- Freddie MacGregor
- Harry Sewell
Included in the squad are an incredible eight tour virgins (rumoured the most ever on an OHAFC Easter tour). Existing tourists hope the weekend will trump last year's appalling trip to Prague organised by 2nd XI skipper Arjun Chopra. David Lederman, embarking on his 15th conscutive tour, commented "it's my favourite weekend of the year; I don't get to travel all that much".
Jack Robinson faces a late fitness test to make the starting line up; his slow recovery from a nasty clash of heads while representing the OH 3rd XI looks set to deprive the team of some much needed mettle in defense. Sam Ponniah is still suffering from an unknown affliction of his "legs", and will not travel.
Notable absentees include Charlie Reid (2011's Weird List Champion) and Bobby Tindall (2011's runner-up).
An extraordinary three days is just over three weeks away...
