OHAFC Fantasy League Update: September 2016

30 Sep 2016

A new season of Fantasy League is underway - complete with mind-bendingly awful new graphics courtesy of some clueless IT bod at Premier League HQ - and with the new term comes some new faces at the top of the 18-strong OHAFC League.

After six of the 38 Gameweeks, Vets' shot-stopper extraordinaire Jon Ingram sits atop the pack with 349 points, an average of 58 points per week. Jon's squad, named 'Don't let me downing', presumably in a clumsy play on words involving Middlesbrough left-footed winger-cum-bench-warmer Stewart Downing, currently enjoys a six-point lead over 2nd XI striker Jack Alhadeff's 'Alchodett's army III' (don't ask me) and a 23-point lead over the rather more imaginative 'Matip for the top' courtesy of recently-betrothed Arjun Chopra.

Struggling at the foot of the table 'early doors' and proving that just because you own a pair of very expensive, personalised Adidas boots it does not mean you know anything about football, returning 2nd XI shot-stopper/shot-allower Jack Orr-Ewing with a paltry total of 270.

Perhaps it's a coincidence but currently the bottom three are all defenders with newboy Alex Ellis and 2s full-back Ed Massey also looking hopefully upwards as the season begins its third month.

The top ten are shown below, with the bottom eight deliberately left off as an inducement to pull their fingers out over the next few weeks, sign up Etienne Capoue and close the gap on Ingram et al at the top of the table...
