OHAFC Fantasy League update: Chops is tops
As the Premier League season enters the home straight, so too does the OHAFC Fantasy League competition.
And it appears to be as comfortable for former 2s captain Arjun Chopra as it does for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.
With just seven game weeks remaining, 'Chops' (or 'Choppy'/'Chop-Punch') enjoys a healthy 35 point lead over second placed James Breeden with third placed Conti von Hirsch a further 60 points behind.
The two leaders have held the top two spots in the 24-team League for much of the season and show little sign of relinquishing their grip as the season nears its climax.
Arjun's point total of 1938 currently puts him in the top 12,000 teams in the game, an impressive performance given that there are more than three million players taking part.
Needless to say, as a Liverpool fan, Chops' side features current Kop idol Mo Salah - 'The Egyptian Messi' - which also happens to be Arjun's team name.
Second place James Breeden is desperate to overhaul Arjun however, and in the process complete a unique double: OHAFC Fantasy League winner and OHAFC Golden Boot winner in the same season. James has already got the latter sown up, with a remarkable tally of 32 goals scored in League and Cup and one 1st XI fixture still to be played.
Those clamouring for a place on the podium behind the top three include Ed Poulter in 4th, David Howells in 5th and Fraser McGuinness in 6th. Indeed, just 30 points separate Howells in 5th from Jack Alhadeff in 11th.
There appears to be a three-way battle at the foot of the table to avoid the wooden spoon, with Toby Cooper (1366pts), Ed Massey (1332pts) and Nick Scarborough (1326ots) cast adrift from the rest of the division.
Much can still change of course, with several of the latter weekends seeing sides playing multiple fixtures and many players still retaining their potential game-changing 'triple captain' and 'bench boost' chips.
Good luck to all players in the remaining few weeks of the season!
