OHAFC Fantasy League: Sept update
With the international week now upon us, it's once again time to check out the latest standings in the OHAFC Fantasy League game.
At the end of August Ludo Callander was top of the pile on 192 points, David Lederman was second on 184 and David Howells third four points further back. Less than 40 points separated the top ten in the standings.
Since then however, much has changed. The late entry of new OHAFC recruit Ollie Bunting and former 3rd XI captain Theo Gordon shook things up straight away, with both players gatecrashing the top three positions in the penultimate week of September.
It was last week's five-goal salvo by Manchester City's Sergio Aguero that really set the cat among the pigeons or, to use a more football-themed metaphor, the Tigers among the Canaries/Swans/Magpies/Eagles.
Last month's leader Ludo Callander had Aguero as captain and his haul of 95 points saw him back on top of the pile, Ollie Bunting slipping to second. Alex Smith's 'The A List' also had the Argentinian as skipper and his 50 points contributed to Smudger's superb total of 110, lifting him into third.
Theo Gordon remains fourth just a point behind Smith, with the big mover of the month 3's skipper Alec Fogarty, whose superbly monikered side 'Ctrl Alt De Laet' scored a remarkable 112 points int eh last game week. As well as Aguero as skipper, 'Foggy' also selected Pelle and Vardy up front, contributing an additional 23 points and Sanchez and Andre Ayew in midfield - another 25 points. Fogarty moves up to eighth with two former winners of the League also in the upper echelons: Ed Poulter and Conti von Hirsch.
The League now has 24 players involved, with Luke Raffety and Sam Maynard bringing up the rear on 290 points. The top seven have all surpassed the 400 point mark.
