OHAFC Fantasy League: November update

10 Dec 2015

With the busy Christmas fixture list nearly upon us, it is time to take a look at the main winners and losers of the OHAFC Fantasy League in November.

At the start of the month Ludo Callander held a 39 point lead over Ollie Bunting in second, with Theo Gordon a further 31 points back. Three Davids then made up the top six with Messrs Igbokwe, Howells and Lederman all separated by just two points. There were less than 100 points between Callander in first and Jon Ingram in fourteenth.

With the last international break of the calendar year, there were in fact only three Gameweeks in November, but that was still plenty of time for some significant movement in the 24-team OHAFC League table.

Ludo Callander and Ollie Bunting still lead the way, Callander now on 805 points after scoring 177 in the month, Bunting closing the gap to just 13 points with an excellent total of 203 for November.

The big winner for the three weeks however was David Lederman, who scored a whopping 222 points over the three weeks to move up from sixth to third, 17 points behind Bunting.

Theo Gordon slips to fourth from third, with two 3rd XI players moving into the top six, Harry Turner in 5th with a total of 739 and Alec Fogarty four points behind - both players scoring just over 190 points in the month.

David Howells and David Igbokwe both had poor months, Howells dropping to seventh with 181 points in November, Igbokwe struggling badly down in 14th, scoring just 149 points over the three weeks. 101 points now separate him from top spot.

At the foot of the table, five players still have yet to break the 600 point barrier for the season, with Sandip Patel, Luke Raffety, Freddie Brunt, Manhad Narula and Fred Milln all showing an astonishing failure to understand the complex nature of the rules: goalies and defenders scoring points for clean sheets, midfielders and forwards for scoring and making goals.

As the season has worn on a number of players have become de rigeur as selections for the boffins in the upper echelons of the table: Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez have continued to shine in Leicester's ascent to the top of the Premier League, Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley likewise for Everton. Mesut Ozil has been in fine form recently and he has proved a popular selection for many, as has Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.

But with still less than half the League programme complete and a busy festive period about to arrive, there is still ample time for people to make a move towards the top of the table.

We'll be back in the New Year to review how everyone got on in December - in the meantime, Keep Fantasising!
