OH website guru Felix Fu honoured at Club drinks night
Felix Fu, the technological genius behind the new OHAFC website, was honoured at the somewhat sparsely-attended club drinks at the Imperial Arms on Saturday night.
Felix has spent the last 18 months of his life in a darkened room trying to finish the website to the satisfaction of Messrs Woolley and Lederman, a task that to this day is still proving elusive.
Despite the obvious gratitude of those present for his sterling efforts in producing surely the greatest amateur football club website in the world, it was disappointing that such a small number of club members should be present on a day when all three OHAFC sides were in action.
Club Social Secretary Nick Defty, who had organised the event, was present in a rather fetching Taylor Made r7 golf cap. Skipper Ed Poulter was in there, Stebbings was in there, Martins was in there, Bourke, for a short while at least, was also in there.
From the 2's, skipper Arjun Chopra arrived, bizarrely, with a tub of sliced fruit in juice and a fork. His explanation was lengthy and not particularly interesting. Woolley arrived late, the packing for next week's poorly-timed holiday in Turkey with his girlfriend taking longer than expected. Jack Robinson, David Stead, Simon Maydon and Jack Orr-Ewing also made the effort to attend.
As the in-house DJ began to spin his musical web of delight, so people began to leave...Defty and Bourke were early departees, Martins had to drive back to Southampton with haste to ensure Basil the cat didn't go hungry, Chopra, having finished his fruit, had to go back and wash up the fork...
With one win, one draw and one defeat from the three games, it had, in truth, been a pretty average Saturday for the OHAFC.
