Lederman free-kick rescues late win for 1st XI

19 Oct 2015

A David Lederman free-kick five minutes from time proved just enough to earn the OHAFC 1st XI a vital win over bottom of the table Malvern on Saturday.

Having spurned numerous chances to put the result beyond doubt in the first half, the Blues nearly paid the price when Malvern came within inches of taking the lead when a thunderous shot cannoned back off the underside of the Harrow crossbar.

The hosts enjoyed a similar slice of luck with their winner: Lederman's effort curled over the wall and bounced just in front of the Malvern 'keeper who made a complete hash of the save, spilling the ball onto the post and into the back of the net.

The win moves Ed Poulter's men back into the promotion places ahead of next week's crunch match against leaders Brentwood.
