Late Monroe goal secures 2s superb point
An 88th minute equaliser from Will Monroe - his first ever League goal for the OHAFC - secured the 2s an impressive, and potentially valuable, point away to confirmed champions the Old Carthusians on Saturday morning.
The Carthusians, who had lost just once this season in League and Cup competition, began well but found themselves 3-0 down as the Blues took advantage of some defensive weaknesses at set-pieces. James Tippett scored twice, tapping in from a corner and firing home a free-kick from out wide. Tristan David scored in between those two efforts, scuffing the ball over the line from Ed Beecham's goal-bound volley following another corner.
Carthusians pulled a goal back prior to the break and then scored three goals of their own, two more from set-pieces and one superb volleyed effort from a Harrow clearance.
But the visitors had the last laugh when Andres Hutchinson drove to the byline and crossed for Will Monroe to fire home and secure a hard-earned point. The draw keeps the Harrow 2s in third in Division Two with three games remaining.
