Late header dumps 1st XI out of Dunn Cup

17 Dec 2016

Lancing Old Boys came from behind to score twice in the final twenty-five minutes and end any hopes the OHAFC 1st XI had of claiming silverware this season.

After a goalless first-half in which their opponents were the better side, the Blues improved after the break and took the lead from the spot after Ollie Walker went down under a challenge from the Lancing goalkeeper. James Breeden coolly converted the chance.

But the visitors couldn't hold on, conceding ten minutes later when a cross from the Lancing left wing was headed twice at close range, the second time the ball deflecting past Fred Milln into the goal.

And the hosts stole the win with just a few minutes remaining when a series of corners caused panic in the Harrow box, the ball being headed in at the near post from the third delivery.

The Blues were unfortunate not to at least take the tie into extra-time but must now regroup during the Christmas break and focus their energies on ensuring Premier Division survival.
