Jack Alhadeff tops Lisbon Tour Weird List!
2nd XI striker Jack Alhadeff claimed the prestigious OHAFC Tour Weird List crown for 2016 with a tremendous average score of 8.31 out of ten from his fellow tourists, seeing off the challenge of perennial weirdo Arjun Chopra in second place.
Lisbon was Jack's first tour with the club and he was a long-shot to claim the title. But as details emerged of his Harry Potter fetish midway through the three days in Lisbon people began to think that just maybe a potential Weird List winner was emerging. His semi-permanent dazed expression, apparent confusion at much of what was going on and 'unique' dancing style all helped contribute to the groundswell of opinion that was building behind him.
Arjun Chopra agonisingly just misses out for the second year running. Having lost out on a tie-break to last year's winner Harry Woolley, this year Chops tried to go one better by wearing a bizarre green jacket and snoopy tie for much of the trip. But his obvious ploy was rumbled early on and much of his score of 103 appears to be residual weirdness from previous escapades.
The top three is rounded off by another tour virgin, Conti von Hirsch, who kindly remarked during the voting process that in his opinion 'no-one has been that weird' - oh yes they have Conti...
At the bottom, newcomer Kyri Pittalis and Jack Robinson shared the Fred Richardson Award for Inducing Comas with a tied score of just 54, an average of 4.15. Kyri remained sensible throughout and produced a Man of the Match display in game one before captaining the side very sensibly in game two. Accountant Jack Robinson meanwhile is so sensible he removed the coating from his 9 chicken McNuggets because 'only the breast meat is good for you.'
He is not expected to be invited to return next year...
