PLAYER STATS:

  • Largest tour party: 17 - Berlin 2009, Antwerp 2010 & Marbella 2015

  • Smallest tour party: 4 - Lederman, Molloy, Tweddle & Warner travelled to Riga, Latvia in 2005 after the 'official' tour to Tallinn, Estonia was cancelled at late notice

  • Most continents visited: Bert Worthy has toured in the UK, Europe, North America & South America with the Club. He is the only player to achieve this

  • Most decades toured in: 4 - Mike Keenan has toured in the 60's/70's/80's/90's; Bert Worthy toured in the 70s'/80's/90's/2000's; Bobby Tindall has toured in the 80's/90's/2000's/2010's

  • Most tours: David Lederman has been on all 18 tours since his first one in 1993. With records from the 80's and 90's incomplete, other notable tourists include: Bert Worthy - at least 14 tours, Mike Keenan - 14 tours, Fred Woolley & Bobby Tindall - at least 10 tours each

  • Schoolboys on tour: David Manasseh 1987, David Lederman 1993, Justin Litherland 1994, Paul Molloy 1995, Freddie Brunt & James Stafford-Allen 2004...there may have been others prior to 1987

  • Best accommodation stayed in: Probably Johnny Williams' villa in Vale do Lobo in 2006. That or the Sol Ipanema Hotel in Rio in 2003, 100 yards from Ipanema beach

  • Worst accommodation stayed in: A close call between the Pension Unitas, a converted prison camp in Czechoslovakia in 1993, and the Hans Brinke Youth Hostel (or Yuth Ote as the sign said) in Amsterdam in 2004

  • Longest trip to a game: Several notable coach journeys to fixtures are remembered, including two-hour trips to play in Barcelona, Marbella & Rio

  • Shortest trip to a game: in 2013 the tourists stayed at the Bulgarian National Football Centre, conveniently the location for their two matches, meaning players could literally roll out of bed and onto the pitch if they so desired (several did)

  • Best conditions played in: In Marbella in 2000 all three fixtures were played at the ground of UD San Pedro, a Spanish 3rd Division side, under floodlights in temperatures around the mid-70's

  • Worst conditions played in: The second game in Sofia 2013 ranks highly in this category. Despite the game starting in cold but reasonable weather, a storm soon blew in meaning the second half was played in driving rain, sleet and snow and played in sub-zero temperatures. At one stage the referee asked both teams if they wanted to continue or call a halt to proceedings. With neither team willing to back down, the game was played to a conclusion. Afterwards, the OHAFC players showered, got dressed and got back into bed to try and recover. Several were never seen on tour again.

  • Best pitch played on: The artificial surface of Atletico Yunquera in Marbella in 2015 was spectacular and included six sprinklers located pitchside to wet the surface and aid player passing - it was totally wasted on the tourists however, who found themselves 2-0 down inside ten minutes, much to the delight of the 100-strong crowd watching

  • Worst pitch played on: The opening game of the 1993 tour to Prague was played on a huge, black shale surface located on the industrial outskirts of the city. A fog descended meaning it was difficult to see from one end of the pitch to the other. Bert Worthy measured the playing surface prior to kick-off, confirming it was the same size as Wembley.

  • Best own goal scored on tour: Sam Ponniah scored from 40 yards past his own goalkeeper in Prague in 2012 when attempting to hack the ball forwards from inside the centre circle

  • Tours where dormitories (more than 3 people sleeping) have been used: Prague 1993, Budapest 1999, Amsterdam 2004, Prague 2012, Hamburg 2014. Apparently also Lisbon 2016...

  • Funniest moment on tour...too many to mention...
