Fantasy League update - August
The first four weeks of the Premier League season are in the books and the international break looms, so this is an ideal time to take a first look at the OHAFC Fantasy League standings.
And a new face is top of the pile, with 2nd XI forward Jack Alhadeff currently topping the 24-team League on 264pts, seven clear of nearest challengers Alex Smith and David Lederman.
Alhadeff, who is currently living and working in San Francisco, returned home briefly last week and featured in the 2s' pre-season friendly fixture at Merchant Taylors on Saturday. His 'Alchodetts Army VII' Fantasy League team currently includes a mix of established FPL stars (de Bruyne, Salah, Andy Robertson) as well as some of the fledgling season's newest heroes: Daniel James of Manchester United, Norwich striker Teemu Pukki, Chelsea youngster Mason Mount and West Ham newboy Sebastien Haller.
The three previous winners of the OHAFC title are enjoying differing starts to their campaigns: reigning champion Ed Poulter, a perennial challenger for the title, currently sits in eighth on 242pts, just one behind 2017 winner Conti von Hirsch; but 2018 victor Arjun Chopra is struggling, his poor start seeing him on 206pts in 18th place.
And currently propping up the table is former 1s goalkeeper Luke Raffety, his 'Rafa Altheletico' side clearly confused by the shoddy spelling employed in their team name, amassing a paltry 99pts from the four game weeks to date.
Still, everything to play for as they say...
