Fantasy League Update
With the climax to the Premier League season looming large on the horizon it's time to take a look at the current standings in the OHAFC Fantasy League.
Just 12 game weeks remain for the 21 players taking part in this season's competition and just two points separate the top two in the standings.
Leading the way with his amusingly-named 'You can't handle the Huth' side is 3's Vice Captain Alec Fogarty on 1,486pts. Just two points back on 1,484pts is tough-tackling 2's midfielder Conti von Hirsch, who clearly was full of confidence at the outset, naming his team 'Uncle Conti's Champs'.
Conti may well be the favourite at this stage following his third-place finish last season. With reigning champ Anthony Beresford not taking part this season and previous runner-up Alex Cater back in sixth, this could be the year Uncle Conti gets his hands on the silverware.
1st XI skipper Ed Poulter takes his Fantasy League very seriously indeed and regularly gets angry with his laptop whenever it takes too long to load the numerous stats spreadsheets he has concocted throughout the season - he is currently in third but a sizeable 76pts behind the leader.
The top six is rounded off with Sam Maynard (1395pts), Fred Coleridge-Cole (1376pts) and Cater a point further back.
Bringing up the rear currently is Azhar Khan, whose incorrectly-named 'Khantastic United' are nothing of the sort, having so far collected a measly 890 points, nearly 260pts less than housemate Jack Orr-Ewing. Clearly the 2nd XI war room could do with a tactical re-think.
Twelve weeks of games remain, who will come out on top and follow in the footsteps of David Lederman and Anthony Beresford, the illustrious duo to have lifted the title previously?
