Fantasy League: And then there were three...

28 Mar 2014

With just seven rounds of matches until the end of the Barclays Premier League season, the OHAFC Fantasy Premier League title race is set to be as close as the real thing.

After last week's bumper game round of 15 matches the three League leaders collected the three highest points totals, cementing their places in the medal positions and making it a racing certainty that this year's winner will come from among them.

Anthony Beresford sits atop the table after collecting a mammoth 175 points from the 15 games, helped by the obvious inclusions of Luis Suzarez and Yaya Toure plus the enlightened selection of Martin Skrtel at the back, who collected 19 points thanks to the two goals he scored at Cardiff last weekend.

Following close behind B-Ray are Alex Cater and Conti von Hirsch, both of whom also collected big points hauls during the week. Beresford has a lead of 34 points over Cater and 55 over von Hirsch.

There is then a gap to fourth and fifth positions, currently held by the top two fantasists from last year's competition, David Lederman and Dave Stead. Last year's champion Lederman is all of 175 points behind von Hirsch and any hopes of retaining his title now appear to be as slim as David Moyes' hopes of winning the Manager of the Year award.
