Depleted 3s hand Suttonians Division 4 title
Despite a valiant first half performance that saw them lead 1-0 at the break, a depleted OHAFC 3rd XI eventually succumbed 4-1 to the Old Suttonians on the Ducker pitches on Saturday afternoon, in the process ensuring the visitors were crowned Division Four title winners for this season.
Missing several of their regular stars, the 3s battled bravely in the first half and led 1-0 courtesy of an excellent goal from Luke Berry.
But after the break, with the strong wind now against them, the Blues found themselves overrun by their opponents and a series of individual errors at the back afforded the Suttonians chances they gleefully accepted.
The defeat leaves the Blues needing three good results in their final trio of League games to ensure finishing in the second promotion spot, with the final game away to the Old Columbans now must-win.
