Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Rupert Hoffen!
Friday saw long-serving OHAFC stalwart Rupert Hoffen tie the knot to fiancee Arabella at Chelsea Old Church.
After the service, notable for Bella reading out a remarkable poem she had written for Ru and some rather fine guitar playing during the signing of the registers, the couple and their guests travelled by old routemaster buses to Little Venice for the reception at the Amadeus.
The club enjoyed a large presence at the event, with Club Chairman Andy Butler, League Chairman Nick Warner, current players David Lederman, Quentin Baker, Paul Molloy, Piers Bourke, Fred Milln and past players Johnny Williams, Charlie Tweddle and Ryan Dyer all in attendance, along with, of course, Ru's brother Harry.
Ru played many seasons for the 1st XI, winning the Division One title in 2000 and the Premier Division in 2004, before recently dropping down to play for the 2's. He has also filled a number of administrative roles within the club, his befriending of referee's a particular speciality.
Harry was joined by Marcus Reoch, who has also played for the club before, in giving an excellent best man's speech to the assembled guests. The event was especially poignant given the recent passing of both Bella's and Rupert's fathers.
Everyone at the Club would like to wish the couple a long and happy marriage.
Ru - please could you update your availability prior to leaving for honeymoon...
