3s undone late on by solid Shirburnians
Despite leading 1-0 at half-time, the OHAFC 3rd XI couldn't hold on against an unbeaten Old Shirburnians side and ended Saturday's encounter on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline - a defeat that leaves the 3s one place off the bottom of Division Four.
In a tight first half, the hosts enjoyed the better of things but fell behind thanks to a superb driving run by right winger Will Glover, who carried the ball half the length of the pitch before seeing his driven cross turned in past his own keeper by a Shirburnian defender.
A fine Tom Mitchell save kept the Blues ahead going into the break, but all their good work was undone just three minutes into the second half when Mikey Watford conceded an unnecessary penalty and the sides were level once more.
Despite defending valiantly in a bid to hold onto an unlikely point, the hosts broke forwards to score with twenty-five minutes remaining and sealed the win with a third ten minutes from time.
