OHAFC III 2 Old Foresters III 3

After great effort by the Club throughout the week the Old Harrovian 3's finally secured a referee for their fixture - unfortunately this was the same referee that had blighted previous fixtures from this season and seasons past, however 'keep the faith' was the call given by the day's captain Benjy Sewell.

The game kicked off with Harrow using their 4-3-3 formation, however this entailed a make-shift back 4 of Sewell, Kapoor, Faber and a 3s debutant of Edmund Massey. Despite having never played CB, Kapoor performed admirably well throughout the game making some vital interceptions and clearances - after 23 years he may have finally found his rightful position. Massey also had a solid game with some members of the team questioning why the 2s would want to demote someone of that calibre.

Old Foresters made a quick start, attempting to beat the offside trap on numerous occasions and finally they did - the striker latched onto a through ball and thumped a great finish past the flailing Gallagher. Calls echoed around the Hill for "offside" though they were in vain. Sewell decided to introduce Elwell to attempt to shore things up at the back however another goal was well taken by Forest.

2-0 down and Harrow were all but dead and buried. However Tass von Hirsch began to pull some strings, linking nicely with Beeley and the tireless Feather in midfield, all 3 players dinking through balls over the top for Smith and down the flanks for Callendar and Walker. It was the latter who found some space, storming into the box and burying an unstoppable shot into the far corner of the goal. 2-1 game on. Callendar also began to find some space down his flank, beating his opponent on a number of occasions however this may have been due to Forest having the oldest player in the league at right back.

The second half started with Harrow quickly piling on the pressure creating chances all over the pitch whilst Faber, despite having had little sleep and even less action, halted any chances Forest attempted to take on the counter-attack.

Again the referee was in the spotlight, drawing attention to himself by awarding an indirect free-kick to Harrow on the Forest goal-line for a deliberate pass back - both squads were bemused as not only had Forest been attempting to clear the ball but the ball had clearly ricocheted off another player. Harrow attempted to take a quick free-kick whilst the referee was still in deep discussion with the Forest team. A true goal mouth scramble enthused with a writhing mass of arms and legs - many saw similarities between this and Kapoor's shenanigans after a recent night out on the Kings Road.

With 10 minutes left on the clock, Ned Callendar took a pop at goal which was deflected by a defender into Sewell's path - one swipe of "das hammer" and the scores were tied at 2-2. Forest began to panic as Harrow now held the momentum. With 46 seconds left of injury time Harrow attempted an attack which came to nothing and expected to hear the final whistle. However, 5 further minutes were played much to the astonishment of both sides. Forest won a free kick outside the Harrow box after a tired challenge. Harrow lined up in a zonal/man marking system which failed to deal with the cross and saw the ball kindly fall to a Forest boot - Gallagher helpless in goal. 3-2 the final score.

It was a valiant effort by a team that have struggled to put out a consistent team sheet for the season, however it was another late goal conceded which has tended to be the thorn in Harrow's side - whether this is down to fitness or a cheeky night in Mare Motos, only those responsible will know.
