3s ease past Bancroftians in DW Trophy

29 Jan 2018

Two goals from leading scorer Alex Smith either side of an effort from Tom Faber proved sufficient for the OHAFC 3rd XI to progress into the second round of the David Woolcott Trophy on Saturday afternoon, the side producing an excellent display to beat Division Four strugglers Old Bancroftians 3-1.

The win was the 3s' first in the competition since the 2014/15 season and earns them a home tie with Old Foresters 3s in the second round. Yet another side from Essex potentially awaits in the quarter-finals with the winners of the Brentwoods 3s/Merchants Taylor 2s drawn to travel to either Harrow or Forest.

Saturday's team lineup and match report is now available in the results section here.

The OHAFC 3s next face a trip to Epsom 2s as they bid to continue their excellent run of form that has seen them unbeaten in League and Cup since the opening day of the season.
