3s' defeat ensures survival battle goes to the wire
The OHAFC 3s suffered plenty of bad luck throughout but were ultimately outclassed by the Old Bancroftians in Saturday's Division Four clash on the Hill, the visitors running out 6-1 winners to keep alive their own survival hopes and, at the same time, ensure the Blues remain firmly in trouble.
Despite only trailing 2-1 at the break courtesy of a superb header from Arthur Blount, a series of injuries meant several players had to take turns in goal and disrupted the plans of skipper Ed Nicholson, forced to watch on from the sidelines following surgery to his neck earlier in the week.
Unsurprisingly, the visitors ran away with the second half against an inexperienced Harrow side containing three debutants. The defeat means the OHAFC still need to win one of their final two matches if they are to ensure survival in Division Four for next season. Anything less leaves the door open for two of the three sides below them to overhaul their final points tally.
