2s thrash Chigwell to maintain 100% start atop Div 2
A hat-trick from Gbeminiyi Soyinka, two from Andres Hutchinson and one from Max Curry helped the OHAFC 2s to an excellent 6-0 win at home to the Old Chigwellians 2s on Saturday afternoon, maintaining both their 100% start to the League season and their place atop Division Two of the Arthurian League.
The visitors actually started the brighter of the two teams but fell behind on ten minutes courtesy of a superb individual effort from Hutchinson, who collected the ball in midfield and drove past three or four defenders before firing in from close range.
An even contest was then tilted firmly in the home side's favour when the Blues rifled in three goals inside the space of twelve minutes prior to the break. Max Curry flicked in a header from a free-kick, Hutchinson converted a cross from his brother Pablo before Gbeminiyi Soyinka grabbed his first of the afternoon with a turn and shot from a Taunton-Collins cross.
The Blues had to defend into the wind for much of the second half but sealed the win with two late breakaway goals from Soyinka, the first from Andy Hutchinson's square pass, the third following a long punt downfield from Lederman.
The win sees the Blues three points clear at the top of the table going into a mini-break, with their next fixture in a fortnight against a strong Old Citizens side.
