2s rue missed chances in crunch defeat
The OHAFC 2nd XI were left to rue a series of early missed opportunities in their crunch top of the table clash at home to the Old Carthusians 2s on Saturday afternoon, before being made to pay late on, the visitors eventually coasting to a 3-0 victory that sees them move nine points clear at the summit of Division Two.
Despite enjoying the better of the early exchanges, the Blues could not find a way past the Carthusians' keeper and fell behind on the half-hour mark courtesy of a superb fast-paced move that ended with a low cross being converted past Charlie Walsh.
The second half again saw the Blues create chances to score but again their radar was off - the third time they have failed to score in successive League games. And they were made to pay for their profligacy late on when the visitors sealed the points courtesy of a lobbed finish and close-range header.
The 2s will now enjoy their Christmas break before returning to action in the League on January 4th.
