2s begin pre-season with encouraging win
The OHAFC 2nd XI began their preparations for the 2019/20 season with a highly encouraging 3-2 win over the Old Sennockians at Burgess Park astroturf in south London on Tuesday night. Debutant James Tippett scored twice, one a fine solo effort, following an equally marvellous goal from Jack Dolbey, who lobbed the keeper to give the Blues the lead.
Thirteen players enjoyed the 80-minute run-out, with midfielder Ed Beecham the other player to make his OHAFC debut.
The 2s' win was the first appearance of any OHAFC side this summer, with the 1st XI taking on the Old Alleynians, also on astroturf, on Wednesday night. The 2s next line up a week on Saturday when they travel north to face Old Merchant Taylors at the school.
The Arthurian League season begins on September 7th, although with the annual Festiphil Tournament taking place that day, the three Harrow sides will be forced to wait until a week later before the competitive action gets underway in earnest.
