2s & 3s enjoy mixed fortunes at the weekend
The OHAFC 2nd and 3rd XIs were in action on Saturday as both teams continued their preparations for the new season.
The 2s travelled north to face fellow Division Two side the Old Merchant Taylors at their school and were somewhat unfortunate to suffer a 2-1 defeat. In a game of two halves, the hosts enjoyed the better start and deservedly led 1-0 at the break.
But Harrow responded after the interval and played some excellent football only to concede a freak second goal when a hugely fortunate ricochet looped off the heal of an attacker and into the far corner of the net. The visitors scored an excellent goal their play deserved late on when debutant Joe Murray tapped in at the far post following excellent work from Jack Dolbey.
There was better news from south London, the 3s having travelled to Hampton astroturf to face Division Three side the Old Johnians in their first, and only, pre-season friendly.
In truth, the 6-4 win owed much to the presence of two 1st XI players, with James Breeden and George Gould scoring five of the six Harrow goals between them. Ade Omisore scored the other.
All three Harrow teams begin their League campaigns on September 14th.
