2014/15 Golden Boot to be decided this Saturday

21 Apr 2015

The race for the 2014/15 Golden Boot comes to a conclusion this Saturday with the final fixture of the season: 2nd XI vs Epsom (A).

As it stands, the leading goal scorers in the Club (all competitions not including friendlies) are as follows:

  • 9 goals: Ben Kerry
  • 8 goals: Max Curry
  • 7 goals: Alex Gilbert
  • 6 goals: Alex Breeden, Alex Smith, Oli Walker
  • 5 goals: Oli Curry, Harry Hoffen, Azhar Yaqub-Khan

Max Curry, Walker and Hoffen are all selected to play this Saturday in a fixture that produced an avalanche of goals earlier in the season - Harrow 5-4 winners. Skipper Taunton-Collins has an array of attacking talent to choose from and all will be baying for a starting position.

Ben Kerry is unavailable and could be caught by Max Curry if the front man has his shooting boots on. It is a tall order for Harry Hoffen who currently has five goals to his name. However, with current holder Alex Smith scoring four against Ampleforth on the final day of last season to clinch the bragging rights for 2013/14, the veteran striker will believe that anything is possible.
